Kind Words

We’re grateful for our community of pet parents that have taken the time to highlight the positive impact our training programs have on their furry companions.

‘We had a wonderful experience! The team was super helpful and took the time to address each owners’ concerns about their dog’s behavior. We took both of our dogs and within the first couple of classes we started receiving comments from friends and neighbors saying the dog training was obviously paying off-everyone could see a noticeable difference! This training program is worth every penny!’

‘I cannot say enough good things about this place. Our pup has had a TON of training. He's a perfect dog 90% of the time but after our most recent move he developed reactivity that we were not able to correct on our own. After doing a lot of research we decided to give this team a try. While his training is still ongoing (and you are supported by them ongoing which we loved) we have seen a huge improvement already.’

— Staci M.

‘Thanks to John Hayes and his team our girl, Tulip, is enjoying life and living up to her potential. After almost two years of struggling with basic commands and failing, we decided to contact John & his team. We knew Tulip would require extensive training and opted to utilize the two week Board and Train program. Let me say, John and Lauren helped ease our fears about leaving our girl with strangers. They were concerned about our goals and expectations for Tulip. They openly communicated her accomplishments. They provided helpful information and videos to ensure we were prepared when she returned home. John helped us understand the value and impact effective communication has on building a trusting relationship with our dog. John and Tulip’s hard work now allow us to loose leash walk with Tulip. Additionally, thanks to the “place” command we can enjoy meals and deck time without our 70 pound girl in our face’

  • We believe in positive approaches using behavior shaping techniques. We know a variety of training methods for several species and we can adjust our approach depending on your comfort level, goals, and your pet’s motivators. We use operant conditioning and positive reinforcement for life-long success!

  • Training length can vary depending on your goals. Some dog training sessions could be 1-3 lessons, other longer sessions as long as 8-10 weeks of weekly lessons. Our horse and bird training sessions can go for as long as you want to train!

  • At our free consultation, we’ll determine your starting point with you. Therapy dogs need to be very well behaved and well adjusted for the environment they’ll be working in. We use the Therapy Pets Unlimited assessment guide for certification, though depending on where you volunteer you might need other certifications. Our team is AKC certified for Canine Good Citizen testing as well!

  • Yes, depending on the goals. Service dog applications may pass or fail, so the sooner you get started with your dog with socialization the better! Your dog must pass preliminary temperament testing to begin, and a doctor’s letter is required. Start with our free consultation to begin.

  • At this time our team does not train green horses for riding. We can help with groundwork if you need guidance or are facing a particular challenge with your young horse.
